Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets began covering regarding Sony's platform for the first time. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox still intends to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
The duo of games that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Compelling Indie Titles
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
